The Independent Living Partnership (ILP) was originally organized to help advocate for passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act. In 1993, the 501(c)(3) organization launched a groundbreaking social assistance transportation program to help meet the special needs of people who were unable to use public transportation. In 2009, the "TRIP" program was named “the nation’s best volunteer driver model”. TRIP has provided more than 1.1 million escort assisted trips for Riverside County residents.
